The Ceremony

Date 13 November 2017
Time 02:00
Location Kinnitty, Birr, Co. Offaly
There will be plenty of space to explore before the ceremony, and there will be no assigned seats - grab a familiar face, or grab a new friend and sit anywhere. Just be ready by 2pm so we can get to the party at the end! Here's the best part: the ceremony, reception and after-party are all in the same room. And the first two drinks are on us!

Gifts

We would prefer if you REALLY want to give us a gift, to pick gift cards from places like REI, Bed Bath & Beyond, or other easy to find stores. You don't want to bring something all the way to Ireland and we'd rather not pack it all the way back home!

Travel and Accomodations

Some basic & important information for the wedding:
1. If you haven't RSVP'd, please do so at www.moposa.com/jamesandanna or contact one of us to say yes/no.
1. Anna and I will be flying out Nov 9th and returning Nov 19th.
2. We will be at the castle (www.KinnittyCastleHotel.com) for the night of the wedding. If you book, you'll need to email or call. Our wedding has the entire castle reserved for the wedding night.
3. Airfare is starting to become available for trips to Dublin/Shannon. We've found costs as low as $600 round trip from Seattle so far, but these flights disappear just as quickly as they show up. (British Air, gone up to 800 now) I recommend waiting another month or two for availability of flights to increase so prices drop.
4. Searching for flights is pretty easy with websites like skyscanner.com and kayak.com. I suggest searching for flights there and then double checking the cost on the actual airline website.
5. ACCOMMODATIONS: We recommend booking at the castle as soon as you can if you're going to stay there the night. They have a list of rooms that are available for the wedding guests. We told them to keep the entire castle reserved for us for the night of the wedding.
5b: If you are going to make the trip a vacation, I recommend using websites like
airbnb.com
bandbireland.com
bedandbreakfast.com/ireland
ireland-bnb.com
booking.com
irishbnb.com
Our last visit was fantastic and we simply drove all over and stayed with great families that run the BnBs. CHECK REVIEWS FOR EACH PLACE. I can't say that loud enough. If someone says the place smells like sewage, find a different place when you're planning the trip, not when you arrive there.
5c: Rental cars and transportation: Anna and I will do our best to help people get to the castle if you need a ride. Relatives or friends may help ferry people around. The easiest way for that to work is to stay in touch with us and let us know what you might need. We'll find someone who can help you out. If you rent a car in Ireland, BE WARNED - our credit cards usually provide insurance when renting cars. They WILL NOT DO THAT in Ireland. You should expect to pay an extra fee for the rental car - call the rental office to make sure you have the correct total for your budget. I'm serious. This insurance can be easily as much as the rental car price. AND you'll be driving on the left. (It's fun, I swear!)

The main websites you'll want to use are
www.kayak.com (This searches expedia, booking.com, priceline, etc.)
www.airbnb.com

Kayak provides airlines, rental cars, and hotels. It'll tell you where it found the deals if you want to use the originating website to make the booking. Book early for places to stay, airline prices will drop 4-6 months before the travel date, so watch for good deals in May-July.

Anna & Jt Travel Plans

Updated information and places we're staying, stuff we're seeing. A few notes for everyone: We already booked our stuff through airbnb, expedia, kayak, and bandbireland.com. If you want to cruise along with our trip, you're VERY welcome to do so, but you'll have to do the footwork of finding your places and booking your tours. If you have any questions, email me at islandcommuter@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do. :)

Anna and I will be traveling to Ireland on the 9th of November and arriving on the 10th. Here's our general itinerary:

10th & 11th: We are going to be making sure all the details are done.

We'll be staying at an Airbnb called Ballincard House Fivealley in Birr.

I suggest traveling south and east/west to check out the Ring of Kerry, Cork, Blarney, Killarney, and Waterford.

12th: We will be staying at Kinnitty Castle this night. We'll probably check out local pubs and look for music and dancing.

13th: Wedding day! We'll be staying at Kinnitty Castle this night. Party all day and night!

14th: We're heading for Adare Manor to take some pictures in the morning and then over to the Cliffs of Moher in the afternoon. The sunset could possibly be fantastic since the cliffs fast west. Fingers crossed.

We'll be staying at the Corofin Country House in Corofin. It's about 10 minutes from The Burren.

15th: We're heading to The Burren as long as the weather is decent. Moderate to light hiking and maybe a picnic. If the weather is not cooperative, we'll go to Kylemore Abbey and then wander north.

We're staying at Slieve League House B&B this night.

16th: We're going to check out the northwest this day - Boat tour at Slieve League(sliabhleagueboattrips.com), Glenveagh Castle, and local pubs and music at night.

We're staying at an Airbnb in Bushmills (9 priestland road) right next to the Giant's Causeway this night.

17th: We'll head to the Giant's Causeway, lots of walking around and pictures, and then we'll drive south to Dublin for the night.

We're staying at the Croke Park Hotel for the 17th and 18th. Queen size beds, breakfast, and free parking.

18th: Newgrange neolithic tomb (you have to book a tour from their visitor center or through a private tour, we used newgrangetours.com) and then probably back to Dublin to wander the city. Book of Kells and Trinity College maybe, old city wall, etc.

19th: Back home to work and normal life!
